Cosmed K4B2 is a mobile Metabolic System and the best choice for field testing.
Cosmed K4B2 is the first portable system designed by Cosmed to measure gas exchange on a true breath by breath basis. Its technology enables the exploration of physiological responses in the field during very fast and brief events, or while recording data over a period of many hours. Testing and calibration are easy procedures that can be carried out either via a PC or from the on-board keypad of the Portable Unit. Cosmed K4B2 accurately measures over 30 physiological parameters including VO2, VCO2, Heart Rate and Ventilation. Cosmed K4B2 is an indispensable device for the researcher and the clinician. Cosmed K4B2 has been validated and used within a significant amount of researches published in the most important scientific journals.

Gas Analysers -
The fast O2 and CO2 analyzers are maintained at a constant temperature. Sampling flow and pressure are continuously monitored. A barometer along with a temperature and pressure sensor allow instantaneous correction for any change in the environmental conditions. A semi-permeable Nafion® sample line effectively eliminates water condensation.
Holter Data Recorder -
The main unit stores breath by breath data in its high capacity memory (16.000 breaths). When the test is completed, the results are downloaded to the PC for analysis and presentation.
Telemetry Transmission -
Using Telemetry, K4B2 transmits breath by breath data to a PC base station, thus allowing the researcher to monitor the test in real time in table and graphic formats.
Laboratory Station -
Turn your K4B2 into a conventional Metabolic Cart. Connecting the unit to a PC, K4B2 offers the same features of the best stand alone laboratory systems.
Software -
The Windows™ PC software allows the user to manage data in table and graph format. Software includes features for Anaerobic Threshold detection, Oxygen Kinetics calculation, Energy Expenditure with substrate metabolism and Oxygen Cost.

Aquatrainer -
Aquatrainer kit allows you to assess the physiological response in a subject while swimming.
Pulse Oxymeter & Clip Sensor -
With this simple add extension probe connected to a sensor (finger, ear or reflectance) the K4B2 can non invasively monitor and record: Oxygen Saturation, pulse waveform and Heart Rate during exercise.
GPS Kit -
The GPS kit (global positioning system), used only during "on-field testing" allows the K4B2 to collect and display in real time distance, altitude, longitude and latitude, together with breath by breath gas exchange data.
