Sigma Onyx 'Classic' and 'Balance' HRMs have a sleek design, are easy to use, focus on the most important functions and are approved to medical standards: NO 93/42/EEC.

The Sigma Onyx 'Classic' and 'Balance' Heart Rate Monitors are equipped with a digital coded chest belt that enables the user to have fault-free training in a group. Due to the digital coded transmission this HRM will not display your heart rate on gym equipment that has a heart rate receiver built into it - this simply means that your heart rate will be displayed on your wrist instead and so you need to wear both the transmitter belt and the receiver in order to monitor your heart rate. Each model features a Sleep Mode (when only time and date are displayed), which it switches to automatically if no training is undertaken after 5 minutes, using only very little power. It can therefore be worn as an everyday watch.

With large figures and pictograms, the Onyx 'Classic' and 'Balance' HRMs are very easy to read - even at a glance, and are easily operated by simply pressing the flexible, decorative ring which they feature instead of buttons.

At the start of training, synchronisation takes place between the coded chest belt and the heart rate monitor. Consequently the watch only receives data from its own chest belt. The heart rate readings are converted into digital data packages and transmitted to the receiver in the watch. A “time coding & ID procedure” within Sigma Onyx models guarantees that data transmission is significantly more secure compared to analogue heart rate monitors.
