A lung function test, or pulmonary function test (PFT) is used to test how well a person’s lungs function, determining statistics such as how much air the lungs can hold, how quickly the air moves in and out of the lungs, how efficiently the lungs put oxygen into the blood, and how well the lungs remove carbon dioxide.
The most common test for lung function is a spirometry test. SpiroScout from Ganshorn is a complete lung function laboratory, which enables the exact determination of all spirometric parameters.
Peak Flow Meters are used to measure the flow of air as it is expelled from the lungs, and Carbon Monoxide Monitors enable health professionals to easily perform breath testing as part of a smoking cessation program and for CO poisoning and smoke inhalation screening.
